The members of the Calvary Baptist Church believe that Jesus Christ was sent into the world on a Mission. For him that mission meant going to Calvary and dying on the cross to pay for our sins. Romans 5:8, “But God commendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.” He completed his mission here on earth when he died and was buried and rose again on the third day. It is then that he tells us in John 20: 21b “…. as my father had sent me, even so send I you.”
With this as our mandate from our Lord, we as a church are actively involved in presenting and promoting this glorious gospel our Lord Jesus Christ both at home and abroad. Since the New Testament teaches with the example of the apostle Paul and others that Christ calls and sends his servants on this mission of spreading the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ we gladly support those who are working with us and for us in this mission endeavor.
Our ultimate goal in doing this is to see souls saved and to help them to establish local fundamental Bible-believing Baptist churches so they can reach out to their communities and the far corners of the world with the same gospel we have had the privilege of sharing with them. Much of the financial support for this work comes from the offerings above the normal giving of our people. Our pastor encourages the people of our congregation to give generously to this most worthy cause.
